Provides guidance and technical support regarding the requirements analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of existing and proposed data management systems.
Monitors data performance, file organization and structure, file management, mass storage management, backup and recovery of data, and data systems security.

In Addition to the Basic Requirement above: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Providing expertise and technical guidance on the design, programming, implementation, and maintenance of data management systems; experience with Integrated Database Management System (IDMS); and applying complex IT principles and practices to the Database Design and Database Architecture process.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).
